Is IBR just a trapezoidal profile with a different name?
No. IBR -- Inverted Box Rib -- has a specific five-rib geometry with a 686 mm cover width and 36-38 mm rib height. Buyers in Africa, the UK, Australia and India order IBR by name, and a machine tooled for a generic trapezoidal will not produce the correct geometry. The IBR rib profile is standardised and buyers check the cover width and rib height on delivery.
What cover width do you tool to?
Standard is 686 mm cover width from a 925 mm coil. The 762 mm cover width variant (smaller coil, shallower rib) is available as a second tooling set on the same machine. Both run the same base machine; the cassette is changed between profiles.
Can the same machine run corrugated or trapezoidal as well as IBR?
Yes, with additional roll cassettes. The base machine frame, drive and control are shared; only the forming rolls change. Changeover takes 2-4 hours. This is the most cost-effective approach for contractors who sell into multiple markets with different profile preferences.
What material thickness range does the IBR machine cover?
0.40-0.80 mm BMT is the standard range covering most residential and commercial IBR applications. G550 high-strength steel (550 MPa) can be processed with the upgraded tool steel roll grade. Above 0.80 mm, consult us on the drive and tooling specification.
Can IBR be run in high-tensile steel?
Yes. G550 (550 MPa yield) is common for IBR in cyclone-rated applications in Australia and South Africa. The machine uses Cr12MoV roll steel rather than standard 45# to handle the higher forming load without roll surface deformation.
Which markets do you supply IBR machines to?
South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Australia, UK, and India are the primary IBR markets we supply. Each order is built to the 686 mm cover width standard unless the buyer specifies 762 mm.

How many forming stations does it use?
The line uses 16-20 forming stations. Station count follows the section — more bends and tighter tolerances need more forming steps, which is why two profiles rarely share one roll set.
What is the drive and installed power?
Drive: Gearbox, chain final drive. Final drive sizing is confirmed against your profile and coil, because a wider or thicker section needs more torque to hold the same line speed.
How is the finished profile cut to length?
Cutting is by Hydraulic flying cut -- no line stop required. Cut length and batch quantity are entered at the control panel, so a job runs to a fixed schedule instead of being measured by hand.
